Community Invited to Attend 988 5K Run and Wellness Fair

Get ready to hit the ground running for a cause that truly matters! You’re invited to join your neighbors and friends at the upcoming 988 5K Run and Wellness Fair. It’s not just about getting your heart pumping; it’s about raising awareness and showing support for the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Seriously, what’s better than a little exercise combined with making a real difference? It’s a chance to enjoy the great outdoors, maybe break a sweat (or not, no pressure!), and connect with some amazing resources for mental and physical well-being. I don’t know about you, but that sounds like a pretty great morning to me.

Event Details

Date and Time

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 26th, with the starting pistol firing at 8:00 AM. Registration kicks off bright and early at 7:00 AM, so you can snag your race number and maybe even do a little pre-run stretching (if you’re into that sort of thing).

Location

The 5K will be held at beautiful Lakeside Park, located at 123 Main Street, Anytown, USA. Trust me, it’s a great spot. Perfect for a morning jog, and even better knowing it’s for a good cause. You might even see a duck or two! Or, well, at least I hope you do.

Registration Information

Ready to sign up? Here’s the scoop on registration: Head over to 988support.org to register online. Early birds get the worm – and a discount! Register before October 12th for just $25. Regular registration from October 13th until October 25th will be $30. If you’re a bit of a procrastinator, you can register on-site the day of the event for $35. But, hey, why wait? Get it done now and save a few bucks for a post-run smoothie. Treat yourself!

Course Map

The 5K course is a mostly flat, paved loop around Lakeside Park. So, it’s pretty accessible for all fitness levels. We’re talking scenic views of the lake and plenty of space to spread out. A detailed course map will be available on the website, so you can plan your race strategy. Or, you know, just enjoy a leisurely stroll. Whatever floats your boat!

Wellness Fair

Exhibitors

But wait, there’s more! After the run, stick around for the Wellness Fair, which will run until noon. You’ll find a bunch of exhibitors with info and resources on all sorts of things. We’re talking mental health, physical fitness, nutrition, and even stress management. Think of it as a one-stop shop for all things well-being! It’s kind of like a farmer’s market, but for your health. Well, maybe that’s not a great analogy. You get the idea.

Activities

The Wellness Fair isn’t just about browsing tables (though that’s fun too!). Get ready for some cool activities like yoga demos (namaste!), health screenings (know your numbers!), and interactive workshops (learn something new!). Who knows, you might discover a new passion or pick up some helpful tips for a healthier you. It’s all about trying new things and having a good time. Just promise me you’ll at least try the yoga!
